MIVA Players Garner NCVF All-Tournament Honors

Lead by Ohio State setter Doug Cherry, Men’s Division I tournament MVP, 29 MIVA players received All-Tournament honors following the inaugural National Collegiate Volleyball Federation (NCVF) National Collegiate Club Volleyball Championships.  Joining Cherry on the DI All-Tournament First team were:  Joe Julkowski, Outside Hitter (OH)-Lakeland, Johnathan Luhrsen, OH-Ohio State, Bronson Oliveira, Libero-Ohio State, Avdo Omerbegovic, Middle Hitter (MH)-Lakeland, and Mitch Wiskirchen, Setter (S)-Lakeland.  Lakeland Libero Andrew Cheever was named to the 2nd team.  Honorable Mention selections from MIVA teams included:  Jon Crepeau, Michigan State, Kevin Deeke, Illinois, Luke Lettinga, Grand Valley State, Nate Sederberg, Wisconsin-Oshkosh and Ryan Sullivan, Indiana.

In Men’s Division IAA, Cincinnati's Jacob Neiheisel, MH and Matthew Siefke, OH were named First-team All-Tournament.  Second team selections included Northern Illinois's Bradley Bingham and Michael Newton, and Cincinnati's Craig Wessels.  The DIAA Honorable Mention list included Corey Bingham, Northern Illinois, Daniel Bryant, Central Michigan, Adam Cristiano, Michigan and Kyle Ullsperger, Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

Cullen McChristian, Ohio Northern and Jeff Thompson, Baldwin-Wallace were Honorable Mention selections in Men’s Division II.

Nick Mueller, UW-Oshkosh-2, Men’s Division III tournament MVP, topped the MIVA selections in DIII.  Michael Benedict, Ohio State-2, Bob Hall, UW-Oshkosh-2, Jordan Mattingly, UW-Oshkosh-2, Brendan Ori, Illinois and Keith Podalak, Illinois were 1st team selections.
